Emmanuel Lewel, the Executive Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has been confirmed dead.
It was gathered that Lewel, who spent three months in office as the chairman of the council, died on Thursday at a private hospital in Abuja, DailyPost reports.
The LG had slumped shortly after a meeting at the council secretariat.
confirming the development, Samuel Tsebe, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, said, “I lost my elder brother (Hon Emmanuel Joseph Lewel, Executive Chairman of Akwanga LGA) to the cold hands of death this evening after a brief illness.”
