End SARS: ‘Buhari’s government is irresponsible’ – Former Presidential candidate

Former Presidential candidate of the Kowa Party in the 2015 General Election, Mrs Remi Sonaiya, on Tuesday, described the President Muhammadu Buhari as “irresponsible”.

She stated this while lending her voice to the ongoing campaign against police brutality in the country.

According to the former Presidential aspirant, any government that truly cares about its citizen would realize that the “ENDSARS” protests goes beyond just police brutality.

She observed that the “ENDSARS” protest is just a trigger that Nigerians are demanding for good governance.

“Any government which truly cares about the citizens will realise that the #EndSARS protests go beyond that one issue – just a trigger. It’s government’s responsibility to address root causes, fundamental issues. Nigerians are demanding #GoodGovernance. @MBuhari,” she tweeted.

She also faulted the establishment of the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) unit to replace the recently abolished Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) unit of the Nigeria police.

She wrote, “We need leaders in this country. And good advisors. Just can’t figure out how/why you’d think it okay to come up with #SWAT barely two days after scrapping #SARS. Nobody does that. People are bound to not believe you have good intentions. This is so elementary! @PoliceNG.”
