End SARS: ‘I did not protest, I was there to calm my supporters’ – Davido tells IGP

Nigerian afrobeats singer, Davido, in a live video on his Instagram page on Monday, denied being involved in the ongoing protest against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria police.

The singer stated this while in a meeting with the IGP.

The IG has asked him weather all the people that came with him will be in the meeting too, and he said “yes, you know some people are saying I came here to have a closed door meeting.

And the IGP said “why will they said that when you already protest.”

And he said “I didn’t protest, I was there to calm my fans down.”

The IG said he meant he already associated with them so there will be no level of doubt from anyone, but Davido insisted that he didn’t protest.
