End SARS: Nigerians blast Buhari for avoiding Lekki toll gate shooting in his speech

Nigerians have reacted after President Muhammadu Buhari avoided the Lekki shooting during his nationwide speech

Buhari had addressed Nigerians in a nationwide broadcast moments back and many Nigerians had felt it would have been a perfect opportunity for him to explain the events that unfolded at the Lekki Toll Plaza.

The topic was clearly avoided by Buhari, as he spoke about the governments achievements with Npower and Tradermoni.

This left many Nigerians in shock.

Tweets gathered reads below:

@RealDreylo: Buhari expressed concern for Oba of Lagos but didn’t say anything about Lekki protesters getting killed. Ok

@dareynow: I think the President’s speech lacked empathy and hope. Two key things needed at such a time as this. Please share YOUR thoughts

@oyimzy: I watched the recorded live broadcast from the beginning to the end and nothing made sense. This Jubril guy sorry Buhari has no sympathy for our lost heroes at Lekki toll gate he didn’t even mention a word about it, wow!

@MrOdanz: Buhari did not acknowledge or even offer any words of condolence to those who have lost their lives in the two weeks of the #ENDSARS protest. He is there telling the international community not to “jump into conclusion” and warning youths that their protests won’t be “tolerated”

@trending_medic: Buhari acknowledged the Police Officers that died but didn’t deem the victims in Lekki and Lagos important enough to give a word.
