#EndBadGovernance: Residents defy curfew, resume protest in Kaduna
Protesters on Tuesday defied a 24-hour curfew imposed by the Kaduna State Security Council on Kaduna and Zaria metropolitan areas, continuing their demonstrations on the sixth day of the #EndBadGovernance protest.
The Kaduna State government had imposed the curfew on Monday, citing concerns that the nationwide hunger protests, which began last Thursday, had been hijacked by hoodlums following incidents of violence and looting.
Despite the government-imposed restrictions, protesters gathered at various locations, including in front of Kaduna Polytechnic and Fidelity Bank in Tudun Wada, a suburb in the Kaduna South Local Government Area.
Security operatives, including police officers, were heavily present at the demonstration sites, strategically positioned to prevent protesters from advancing further.
Similar demonstrations are ongoing in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and other parts of the country.
