Following the planned one year memorial rally by organisers of #EndSARS, companies on Lagos Island, especially those around Victoria Island-Lekki axis have ordered their staff to work from home.
It was learnt that the staff received mails to the effect yesterday after the close of work.
The action, it was learnt, was to prevent the workers from being caught in the middle of a crossfire between #EndSARS organisers and the security agencies.
Some of the companies are afraid that the rally could be hijacked by hoodlums like in the past.
One of the mails made available to The Nation reads “…All staff are not expected to be physical in the office, rather should work from home. Those exempted have been contacted via another mail. We urged our staff to be wary of their environment and avoid areas prone to insecurity.”
Ademola Ojo, who works with an Information Technology firm, applauded the action.
According to him, those working in the technical departments were exempted by mail.
“The company has made adequate security arrangement for them,” he said.
