The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that its personnel used ‘minimal force’ on demonstrators at Lekki Tollgate on Thursday.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that some youths on Thursday staged a march in commemoration of the 2nd anniversary murder of the murder of protesters at Lekki Tollgarfte on October 20, 2020.
It was gathered that some of the protesters were tear-gassed and arrested by the police.
Confirming the development, the Police PRO in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said Minimal force was used on the demonstrators for violating the law.
He tweeted, “A stitch in time saves nine. They were already gathering at the toll gate as opposed to doing a peaceful procession. Minimal force was used. No injury or fatality.”
