The Enugu State Governorship Election Tribunal has affirmed Governor Peter Mbah’s victory in the March 18, 2023 gubernatorial election.
In a ruling delivered on Thursday, the Tribunal’s Chairperson, Justice Kudirat Akano, dismissed the claim made by Hon. Chijioke Edeoga/LP that Governor Peter Mbah’s NYSC discharge certificate was forged.
The Tribunal determined that Mbah did not need to submit his NYSC certificate to INEC to qualify for the governor’s office, as he was already qualified without it.
Furthermore, the tribunal rejected Edeoga’s witnesses, stating that the LP governorship candidate failed to present any admissible evidence to substantiate the claim of a forged certificate against the governor.
