The Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Walter Ozioko, has suspended his Special Adviser on Transport, Mr. Michael Emeka Nwangwu, following a scandalous video that recently went viral.
The announcement of the suspension was confirmed in a press statement issued by the Chairman’s media aide, Mr. Ejike Okpe. The statement expressed the Chairman’s strong disapproval and condemnation of the “dastardly, debasing, and abominable act” committed by Mr. Michael Emeka Nwangwu, also known as ‘Emmanuel, the People’s Mayor.’
The press statement reads, “In total abhorrence, rejection, and condemnation of the dastardly, debasing, and abominable act perpetrated by his Special Adviser on Transport, Mr. Michael Emeka Nwangwu, who, also, goes by the name, ‘Emmanuel, the People’s Mayor, Hon. Dr. Barr. Walter Ozioko, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, has, today, Tuesday, 7th November, 2023, terminated the appointment of the said Michael ‘Emmanuel’ Emeka Nwangwu.”
In addition, a letter of termination, signed by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Michael Ugwu, was sent to Mr. Nwangwu. The letter stated that the termination was a result of “conduct unbecoming of an honorable member of the Council.” Mr. Nwangwu was instructed to hand over all property belonging to Nsukka Local Government Area under his custody to the Secretary of the Council.
The scandalous video in question showed Mr. Nwangwu engaging in an intimate encounter with a married woman within the local government secretariat. In an audio clip circulating on social media, Mr. Nwangwu attributed his actions to the woman, claiming that she had pressured him into the situation. He also stated that the woman, identified as Philomena Omeje, had misrepresented her marital status, further apologizing for his actions.
Mr. Nwangwu revealed, “I am a man, she was rubbing herself all over me, and she was pantless, I could not resist her any longer; she was not putting on any underwear; I feel so sorry right now, everyone should forgive me.”
According to Mr. Nwangwu, the video was released on social media by individuals associated with the woman who sought to extort money from him. He went on to explain the circumstances surrounding the video and how he was coerced by the woman into a compromising position.
He concluded by expressing remorse and seeking forgiveness from the public, acknowledging the embarrassment and the lesson learned from the incident.
