EPL: Arteta identifies Man City as team to beat this season

Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta has identified Manchester City as the team to beat in the upcoming season. Speaking during a press conference ahead of the Community Shield game, Arteta acknowledged City’s dominant performance last season, which saw them retain their title, while Arsenal’s title challenge faltered in the final weeks.

With the traditional curtain-raiser match against Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday, the Gunners are eager to seek revenge and start the new season on a high note. Arteta expressed his excitement about playing in a final and having the opportunity to win a trophy for the club.

The manager emphasized the importance of this match and the desire to compete for every trophy, signaling a new era for Arsenal. He admitted that last season’s performance fell short of winning a major trophy, and the team needs to improve to achieve their goals.

“Very excited to play a final to win a trophy, we are playing against the team to beat.

“This is what we want (a new era for Arsenal), fighting for every trophy. We have to prove that. What we did last year was not enough to win the big trophy, and we have to be better.

“We have to try and maintain the level and improve it for them (fans),” Arteta said.
