EPL: Guardiola reveals why Man City lost 1-0 to Arsenal
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola conceded that Arsenal secured their 1-0 victory on Sunday with “one deflection,” referring to Gabriel Martinelli’s decisive goal that took an unfortunate bounce off Nathan Ake, leaving goalkeeper Ederson wrongfooted.
Gabriel Martinelli, a substitute, netted the sole goal of the match in the 86th minute, giving Arsenal their first win over the Premier League champions in 12 matches.
Speaking to MOTD, Guardiola acknowledged the unpredictable nature of football and highlighted the tightness of the game: “It was a tight game. We defended really well; the players gave everything. It is football; we lost the game. We will come back stronger.”
He also pointed out that despite the loss, Manchester City had several strong moments during the match, particularly in the first half.
