Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has suggested that Aaron Ramsdale should consider leaving Arsenal during the summer transfer window to find a new club.
Ramsdale hasn’t started a Premier League match for the Gunners since March 9, having been relegated to a backup role behind Mikel Arteta’s new signing, David Raya.
In an interview with the Daily Telegraph, Martinez, who departed Arsenal in 2020 to seek regular first-team action, advised Ramsdale by saying, “It’s a different situation for me because Aaron was signed for a significant fee.”
“He was the No 1 for Arsenal. I never had a chance like that.
‘When you play every game in the Premier League and then you drop to the bench with the quality that Aaron has, I think he should find a place to play where he feels loved.
“He is a player that England needs in their goalkeeping area. He has a great future.”
