EPL: Liverpool asked to sign Osimhen

Ex-England striker, Emile Heskey has urged Liverpool to sign Victor Osimhen.

Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Osimhen from Serie A club, Napoli.

Fellow Premier League clubs, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, as well as European champions, Real Madrid are also credited with an interest in the Nigeria international.

The 23-year-old has scored 10 goals and recorded three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions for Napoli this season.

The Nigeria international was recently named “Emerging Young Player of the Year” at the Global Soccer Award in Doha, Qatar.

“He (Osimhen) would certainly give them something different to what they have now,” Heskey noted. “He’s different to Nunez who can play out wide; Osimhen would be that central goal threat,” Heskey told Anfield Watch.

“He’s quick, has an eye for goal, and can finish really well with both feet. He’s a top player. I think Napoli paid quite a lot for him, so that’s why he’s commanding a €100m transfer fee.”
