EPL: Liverpool dominate Ipswich to stay six points clear at the top

Cody Gakpo starred with a brace as Liverpool cruised past Ipswich Town, securing a 4-1 victory to maintain their six-point lead at the Premier League summit.

The Reds asserted dominance early, with three first-half goals effectively deciding the contest.

Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a sharp strike at the near post, assisted by Ibrahima Konate.

Mohamed Salah added a second 24 minutes later, smashing home from a tight angle. Cody Gakpo capitalized on a rebound to make it 3-0 just before halftime.

Ipswich, fresh off a 6-0 drubbing by Manchester City, offered little in attack as they focused on damage limitation.

However, Gakpo struck again in the second half, rising high to power in a header for Liverpool’s fourth.

The visitors managed a late consolation in stoppage time when Jacob Greaves nodded home from a corner, but it was scant reward for their efforts.

Liverpool remains on course for their second league title in six years, while Ipswich stays in 18th place, tied on points with Wolves.
