Manchester United’s midfielder, Mason Mount, is poised to sit out the team’s upcoming two fixtures in the Premier League due to an injury setback.
As reported by the club, Mount is anticipated to remain sidelined until after the international break due to a “minor issue” he sustained during the recent 2-0 loss against Tottenham.
Mount, who made the switch from Chelsea to Manchester United in June for an initial fee of £55 million, is set to miss their next league encounter against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford on Saturday, followed by a clash with Arsenal on September 3rd.
His participation in the Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine on September 9th also hangs in the balance.
Despite being handed a starting role in United’s first two Premier League matches by Coach Ten Hag, the 24-year-old has encountered difficulties in leaving a significant mark on the field.
During the opening day’s 1-0 victory over Wolves, Mount was substituted after 68 minutes, making way for Christian Eriksen. Similarly, in the match at Tottenham Stadium last Saturday, he was replaced by Facundo Pellistri with merely five minutes of playtime remaining.
