Bryan Mbeumo’s brace helped Brentford secure their first Premier League away win of the season, as they comfortably defeated struggling Southampton.
Kevin Schade opened the scoring early, finding the net just six minutes in after latching onto Mikkel Damsgaard’s brilliant pass through the Southampton defence.
Mbeumo doubled Brentford’s advantage just after the hour mark, firing into the roof of the net to make it 2-0.
The Cameroon international then added a second from the penalty spot after Chelsea loanee Lesley Ugochukwu fouled Sepp van den Berg.
Mbeumo turned provider late in the match, setting up Keane Lewis-Potter for a stoppage-time goal, before Yoane Wissa capitalized on a poor header from substitute Yukinari Sugawara to complete the 5-0 thrashing.
With the victory, Brentford rise to 10th in the standings, while Southampton remain firmly at the bottom with just six points.
