EPL: Merson predicts club as key title challenger to Liverpool

Arsenal legend Paul Merson has expressed his belief that Chelsea will be Liverpool’s biggest challenger in the battle for the Premier League title.

Speaking after Chelsea’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, Merson told Sky Sports that the Blues have shown themselves to be serious contenders for the top spot.

“It’s a massive result. This is Chelsea’s biggest game of the season—go to Tottenham and win, four points behind Liverpool.

“They’re in the title race and are Liverpool’s biggest threats. They haven’t got European football; they’ve got another team for that.”
