EPL: Nketiah strikes late as Crystal Palace shock Liverpool at Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace delivered a dramatic upset at Selhurst Park, defeating Premier League leaders Liverpool 2-1 thanks to Eddie Nketiah’s decisive strike deep into stoppage time.
Ismaila Sarr set the tone early, putting the Eagles ahead with a composed finish that sent the home crowd into raptures. Liverpool, however, kept pushing and eventually levelled the contest in the 87th minute when Federico Chiesa coolly converted to seemingly salvage a point.
But just as the visitors appeared to have done enough, Palace struck again. Nketiah pounced late on to fire home, sealing a memorable victory that ended Liverpool’s five-match winning streak.
The result catapulted Palace into second place in the table, underlining their growing ambitions in this season’s campaign while dealing Liverpool a setback in their title charge.
