EPL: Nottingham Forest Stun Manchester United at Old Trafford

Nottingham Forest capitalized on Manchester United’s defensive mistakes to secure a historic 3-2 victory at Old Trafford, their first win at the iconic venue in nearly three decades.

Nikola Milenkovic opened the scoring early for Forest, but Rasmus Hojlund equalized for United before halftime. However, the visitors seized control with two quick goals early in the second half, exploiting United’s defensive frailties.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana misjudged Morgan Gibbs-White’s strike from the edge of the area, diving right as the ball veered left to find the net. Minutes later, Chris Wood’s looping header caught both Onana and Matthijs de Ligt out of position, with Lisandro Martinez unable to clear, as the ball nestled in the far corner.

United captain Bruno Fernandes pulled one back on the hour mark, but despite making five substitutions, manager Ruben Amorim’s side couldn’t find an equalizer.

The defeat marks United’s second consecutive Premier League loss, following their midweek setback against Arsenal.

It also leaves Amorim with just one win from four league games in charge. With 19 points from 15 matches, United are enduring their worst start to a season since 1986-87 and sit in 13th place.

In contrast, Forest’s victory lifts them to fifth, showcasing their impressive progress under Steve Cooper this season.
