EPL: Rio Ferdinand predicts Premier League title winner

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed his top-four predictions, confidently backing his former club to secure a return to the Champions League spots.

Ferdinand predicts Arsenal to finish first, ahead of Manchester City in second, with Liverpool taking third and Manchester United claiming fourth. However, he doesn’t foresee Chelsea making it into the top four.

Manchester United will kick off their season by hosting Fulham on Friday night, while reigning champions Manchester City face Chelsea on Sunday.

Explaining his reason for picking Arsenal, Ferdinand said on TNT Sports: “I think it’s hard to go against City because of how successful they’ve been over the last four seasons.

“They’ve set a new benchmark, a new record of four in a row.

“But I just think Arsenal, Calafiori coming in on the left hand side, if he comes in and sures that area up…I think he’s a fantastic player, played at Bologna under Thiago Motta, he understands that type of football that Arteta wants to play.

“I think that was the area that was a slight weakness in the team, he gives them a bit of balance there and a bit of stability. So I’ll go maybe Arsenal to win it, but there’s got to be a hunger.”
