EPL: Stop questioning my commitment – Rashford tells critics

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has responded to critics questioning his dedication to the club in a heartfelt message shared on The Players’ Tribune.

The 26-year-old, currently facing a challenging season with the Red Devils and having scored only five goals across all competitions, has faced both on-field struggles and off-field controversies, including a nightclub incident resulting in disciplinary action.

In his message, Rashford expressed his disappointment with those who have doubted his commitment, urging for empathy and understanding. He stated, “I’m not a perfect person. When I make a mistake, I’ll be the first one to put my hand up and say that I need to do better.”

“But if you ever question my commitment to Man United, that’s when I have to speak up,” Rashford continued. “It’s like somebody questioning my entire identity, and everything I stand for as a man.”

The England international highlighted his deep connection to the club, emphasizing his long-standing history with Manchester United. He reflected on his journey, stating, “I grew up here. I have played for this club since I was a boy. My family turned down life-changing money when I was a kid so I could wear this badge.”

Rashford concluded his message by expressing his resilience in the face of criticism while appealing for understanding and compassion. “I can take any criticism. I can take any headline. From podcasts, social media, and the papers. I can take it,” he said. “But if you start questioning my commitment to this club and my love for football and bringing my family into it, then I’d simply ask you to have a bit more humanity.”
