EPL: Ten Hag brushes off crisis talk at Old Trafford after Man Utd win over Chelsea

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, dismissed any notion of a crisis at Old Trafford following his team’s victory over Chelsea. The Red Devils secured a 2-1 win with Scott McTominay netting twice, despite Chelsea drawing level through Cole Palmer just before halftime.

Ten Hag, facing criticism after United’s previous defeat to Newcastle, asserted that there has been no sense of panic within his squad. He emphasized the team’s commitment to their process and the calm approach they’ve maintained.

“It hasn’t felt like a crisis for us,” Ten Hag stated. “We’ve kept calm, worked on the process, and we know where we have to build and what we have to build on. We’re going in the right direction.”

The Dutch manager addressed the criticism surrounding the team, stating, “We don’t get distracted from criticism around us; we are very critical of ourselves and know we are not quickly satisfied. We want to do better.”

Acknowledging the need for improvement, Ten Hag remained optimistic about the team’s capabilities, saying, “If we do things badly, we want to put that right and want to keep going in the process. The season is long, we have to improve a lot if we want to be successful, but this team is capable of that.”

Regarding external noise and criticism, Ten Hag expressed indifference, stating, “I don’t care about the noise going on around us. The dressing room as well, they don’t care. They are used to it.”
