Essence of Yemi Itodo as deputy Chairman of Ogbadibo LGA (Opinion)

I’m still trying to pencil down a small piece titled ‘Rural transformation,a panacea to food security and Economic Development’
Though,I have resolved this year never to projects any Big kahuna or doctor any anathematous piece but to concentrate on issue based work and activities that promote crime free society where people could go about with their legitimate businesses without fear of intimidation and molestation but for the sake of Yemi my friend and coordinator I have to extract part of my write up to back his ambitions.

Rural areas is a hub of natural resources that are yet untapped.

It’s a reservoir of industrial and organic materials, but highly neglected.
Our great country Nigeria is busy looking for other sources of income apart from oil sector,yet where the potentials are being deposited which is agriculture is not secured and attended to.

The Youths who are supposed to facilitate this venture have left the rural areas to the city in search of menial jobs like security,Okada/Kake riders and those who can’t get this are being lured to unwholesome vices.

Now agricultural practices especially crop production is in the hands of the aged people who doesn’t have the energy to produce much for the increasing population.

These have resulted into squalor, famine,penury, hardship, unemployment, brigandage,harakiri, kidnapping and other heinous crimes which is being perpetuated mostly by army of unemployed youths who are also drugs addicts.

To address this,we must go back to the basics, which is Rural transformation.
If it’s effectively address,there will be employment,less crimes and pressure in the city.Food security and general economic transformation will be guaranteed.

Our youth corpers will accept to serve in those communities that have basic amenities.
