The European Union has opened its scholarship portal for the 2022 Eramus+ Scholarship Programme for youths in Nigeria.
This was made known by the EU Commissioner for International Partnerships Jutta Urpilaien at the National Youth Conference organized by the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports in Abuja.
According to Ms Urpilaien, Nigerian youths are key to the nation’s development, adding that the EU delegations in Africa have been mandated to establish a youth sounding board to ensure youths are mainstreamed into their decision-making process to reflect diversity and inclusivity.”
Meanwhile, the Eramus+ Scholarship Programme, the EU’s flagship programme for education, training, youth and sport, will hold next year.
The scholarship programme offers beneficiaries who are youths to study in some of the most prestigious universities within and outside Europe.
The programme is equally committed to equipping young Nigerians with the education, skills and competencies they require to contribute to nation-building.
In 2021, it awarded over 135 Nigerians a prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree Scholarship.
