Abeje C. Egwa, former State Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, has officially resigned her membership from the party.

In a letter dated July 4, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Okete Ward in Otukpo, Egwa attributed her decision to lingering internal conflicts within the party.

“I write to formally tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately. This decision has not come easily, as I have been deeply committed to the ideals and vision of the party.

“However, the prolonged internal crises and unresolved divisions within the party has made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my involvement in good conscience,” she stated.

While stepping away from the party, Egwa expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in various capacities.

“It has been a privilege to contribute my quota to the growth and development of the party, and I will always value the experiences and relationships built during my time here.”

She ended her letter with a note of goodwill, saying, “I remain hopeful that the party will overcome its present challenges and continue to play a meaningful role in our democratic journey.”
