Chukwubukem Ikwuemesi, a former standout of the Flying Eagles, is currently undergoing a series of medical assessments with Serie A club Salernitana, as he prepares for an anticipated permanent transfer.
Recent reports originating from Italy have confirmed that Salernitana has successfully negotiated a transfer agreement with Slovenian club NK Celje for Ikwuemesi’s move.
Previously, Ikwuemesi came close to sealing a deal with Ligue 1 side Le Havre, but the arrangement eventually fell through.
Similarly, a potential move to Latvian club Riga FC failed to materialize as well.
The 22-year-old talent impressively recorded nine goals and contributed five assists while representing NK Celje in the previous season.
His earlier achievements also include his participation as a key player for the Flying Eagles during the 2020 WAFU B U-20 Championship.
