The death has been announced of the former caretaker chairman of Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State, Hon Augustine Ijigah Okoh.

According to the family, Ijigah died at the age of 67.

Confirming the death, his first son, Captain Ijigah, stated that the ace journalist and Peoples Democratic Party stalwart would be buried in his country home, Ekere Owukpa, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

Reacting to the death, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, described the deceased as an experienced grassroots politician who would be greatly missed by all.

He wrote, “It is sad to have lost Hon. Ijigah at a time when his wealth of experience would be most beneficial to you, your family, and the Owukpa community.

“As the Good Book says in Ecclesiastes Chapter Three, verses one and two, ‘To everything, there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die.’ We cannot question the wisdom of God who called him home.

“As human beings, it is always our desire to live in perpetuity with our loved ones, but God Almighty has configured the fullness of time for every human being, and it is His sole prerogative to determine when our earthly sojourn ends.”
