The family of Hon. Augustine Ijigah Okoh, a former caretaker chairman of Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Benue State, has announced his passing at the age of 67. However, the cause of his death was not disclosed.
Confirming the news, his first son, Captain Ijigah, stated that the respected journalist and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart would be laid to rest in his country home, Ekere Owukpa, on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Mourning his demise, the Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro, described Ijigah as a seasoned grassroots politician whose absence would be deeply felt.
“It is sad to have lost Hon. Ijigah at a time when his wealth of experience would be most beneficial to you, your family, and the Owukpa community,” Moro stated.
Quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, he added, “To everything, there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. We cannot question the wisdom of God who called him home.”
He further acknowledged the human longing for longevity with loved ones but emphasized that life and death remain within God’s divine control.
