Excitement as army builds post service estate in Otukpo, pays compensation (PHOTOS)

 In what appears to be a dawn of new era for the Idoma community, Otukpo, the ancestral home of Idoma people of Benue State is set to house the Nigerian Army Post Service Housing Estate.

The estate which will birth a mega city is expected to produce at least 1000 housing units located in Eupi after Enugu round about in Otukpo.
It will be recalled that the Nigerian Army recently paid a courtesy call on the Sole Administrator of Otukpo Local Government Area Hon. George Alli, Brig Gen M Bashir, the MD/CEO of Nigerian Army Post-Service Housing Development Limited expressed the commitment of the Army Authority to build a mega estate in Otukpo.  He admitted that the Idoma nation had churned out a number of military generals both serving and retired.

In line with the commitment made by Hon George Alli to allocate a sizable land to the Nigerian Army for the Post Service Estate, compensation has been paid to the Eupi Community in line with the provisions of the Land Use Act while the Certificate of Occupancy is to be issued to the Army immediately.   Addressing the Eupi Community, Hon George thanked the elders for accepting to host this laudable project and to take advantage of the opportunities that the project will bring to the area.

Barrister Paul Ankwa Edeh, the Company Secretary of the Nigerian Army Housing Scheme who represented the Nigerian Army at the occasion of payment of compensation described the project which will soon be commenced as one that will change the real estate clime in the state and solicited the cooperation of the Host Community and the local government to make the project a success.

Reacting to the development, Capt FO Achichi who witnessed the signing of the Compensation Agreement and Elders Consent expressed joy that the Idoma nation is experiencing this laudable move by the Nigerian Army.  He pledged his full support for the project and urged all Idoma sons and daughters to take advantage of the project as their own.
 

Similarly, Hon. Baba Odeh one of the Community leaders at the event appealed to the Nigerian Army to consider members of the host community for the jobs to be executed and thanked the Otukpo Local Government Chairman for this giant strides and pledged his unalloyed support to the project.
