EXCLUSIVE: Meet top female Idoma entertainers rocking Nigerian showbiz

Idoma Voice showcases the exclusive world of some of the hot Idoma divas in the entertainment industry who are strategically taking over.

In fact, they are gradually and stylishly occupying the front rows in the showbiz terrain.

Ene Miltex Ogiri

 

Her name may not readily ring a bell, but Ene Miltex Ogiri has been in the movie industry for over a decade. In fact, she has featured in quite a number of Nigerian chart-bursting flicks and effortlessly clinched lead roles in many as well.

 

The dazzling angel who produced Kahani, believes that she has paid her dues in the motion picture industry globally known as Nollywood.

 

Hear her: “I have paid my dues. I may not be the richest or the highest-paid actress in Nollywood, but I will not stoop that low. It is a shame what many people do for fame.  I am where God wants me to be. Even if I do wrong and they write about it, I will adjust and apologise to my fans, simple. If you are not relevant people will not talk about you. So, I know, tongues will wag, but I am ready for all that. God is by my side. The people they talked about before I became an actress are still there today; they are doing well for themselves.”

 

Christine Ben-Ameh
Christine Ben-Ameh is a British Nigerian singer-songwriter and recording artist.
She was born at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, Kent, England, on 12 October 1986 (with her twin brother, Jude)[1] to a medical-doctor father, Dr. Benedict Abakpa Ameh and a hospital administrator mother, Mrs Felicia Ameh. Her father runs the El-Shaddai Specialist Hospital and her mother, the Children Charity Home, both in Makurdi, Benue state.
Hers is a singing family as her mother was once in the church choir and her twin brother, Jude who plays the piano and guitar, is also a medical doctor.
Ben-Ameh’s first public singing performance at a small concert in her hometown at the age of 14.
Her signature pop blues style was first singled out for attention when she won the MTN sponsored talent contest held in University of Jos, Plateau State-Nigeria in 2005.

 

Immaculate Patience Edache

 

Her foray to stardom began when she emerged 1st runner up of the highly competitive 2014 Project Fame West Africa Season 6.

 

The Idoma-born bold and beautiful songstress smiled home with cash prize of N3m and a brand new car.

 

Edache, a Mass Communication graduate of Benue State University was also one of the finalists of Peak Talent Hunt Show. She’s currently wowing entertainment buffs with her electrifying voice. She was recently signed into a label managed by ace music producer, TY Mix.
Naomi Da Diva

 

Naomi Oboyi, famously known as Naomi Da Diva is many things rolled into one. In fact, she has her busy hands in many pies. She is a seasoned music minister, event anchor, poetess, voice-over artiste and an award winning on-air-personality with an intense passion for God.

 

The Benue-born songstress who is blessed with a unique voice and style says her songs are meant to preach the gospel of Christ and to worship YESHUA who gave her the talent.

 

She currently plies her trade with TVC, Abuja.

 

Susan Ochanya Peters
Stunning actress, Susan Peters has become the darling of movie buffs in the Nigerian motion picture industry globally known as Nollywood. Since her emergence in 2002, the slim-built thespian has dazzled in several highly rated movies.

 

Although, born and raised in Kano, the Ado-born Idoma business woman-turned-entertainer has continued to open new vistas for herself and budding career, since her relocation from the north to south, in pursuit of her dream.

 

The self-acclaimed Duchess of Idoma and proud wife is equally a scriptwriter and interior decorator with several high profile jobs to her credit.
Ada Ameh
Ada Ameh, is an inspirational lady, who refused against all odds to be relegated to the back seat or turn into a recluse after having her child – Gift Ameh – at the tender age of 14.

 

Undeterred by the pains of single parenthood at that age, Ada never gave up hope despite the fact that she was not privileged to have formal education. This has given her the zeal to take up the challenge and help ladies and guys, who have fallen victim of the society and been driven out of school into prostitution among other ills. Interestingly, the Idoma, Benue State indigene, who was born and bred on the streets of Ajegunle, has embarked on a mission to help those who need her help urgently and more.

 

Empress Ene Ikwumonu
Fast-Rising actress, Empress Ene Ikwumonu is fast becoming a darling of the motion picture industry, globally known as Nollywood since she abandoned her teaching profession for the klieg light few years back.

 

The leggy thespian who had dazzled in many chartbusting flicks is no doubt one of the actresses that would displace from the scene the old generation in no distant time.

 

Recently, the budding actress won the Most Promising Actress of the Year Award, courtesy of City Pride magazine. While she was busy basking in the euphoria of her honour, another fortune smiled on her, she was elected National Chief Whip of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.

 

Ikwumonu has wowed in many top movie such as: Saved, Lady of Honour, Village Juju, Odowura, The New Village Headmaster, Going West, Crossroads, Comfort Zone, Mama Africa and many more.

 

Ene Maya Lawani
Former beauty queen, Ene Maya Lawani hit the global reckoning in 2004 when she was crowned Miss Nigeria. The longest serving beauty queen in the country.

 

Before now the ex-queen kept a low profile for years, until she bounced back with the launch of her exquisite headgear called ‘Ene Maya’.

Talented movie star, Janet Ameh Odoh-Willaim is an actress to watch out for in the movie industry. The thespian who hailed from Owukpa, a suburb of Benue has carved a niche for herself and burgeoning career. The role interpreter became a household name after her wonderful role in St. Godwin Ochola’s directed Ada (The Helpless Orphan) some a few years back.
