A defeated House of Representatives aspirant in Benue State has reportedly asked delegates of his party to return his money after losing the ticket to his opponent.
The aspirant (name hidden), IDOMA VOICE exclusively gathered, was defeated with a wide margin in the just-concluded primaries of the PDP in the state.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the aspirant gave each delegate about N500,000 and motorcycles to some key stakeholders.
However, he lost woefully to his opponent with a wide votes margin.
One of the delegates in a chat with IDOMA VOICE said she got a text from the aspirant’s agent last night that she should return the money.
According to the source, the agent claimed she betrayed his principal by voting for his opponent after collecting N500,000 from him.
“The agent called me around 10pm yesterday asking where I was. I told him I was already in my village, he quickly dropped the call and sent his account number that I should refund the money they gave me.
“I replied that which money was he talking about, he responded that I have between today (Thursday) and Friday to refund the money or ‘body go tell me.’”
Another party stakeholder confirmed the aspirant’s threat in a chat with IDOMA VOICE.
“I received a message from an unknown number that I should return the motorcycle they gave me to a place in our local government headquarters before or on Friday.
“When I asked who he was and the reason for asking me to return the bike, he called me a traitor and quickly dropped the call. I really don’t know what is happening.”
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the defeated aspirant is making plans to join either the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP or the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Meanwhile, a leader of the party in the constituency told IDOMA VOICE that the defeated aspirant was a rotten tooth that was pulled out to allow the mouth chew freely.
