A sensorial aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Benue South Senatorial District has obtained the Expression of Interest of the Social Democratic Party.
IDOMA VOICE exclusively gathered that the aspirant, who was a former lawmaker, purchased the form in April as plan B if he fails to pick the PDP ticket.
A close insider hinted this online platform that the aspirant secretly picked the form as a backup plan when it became evident that the ‘umbrella ticket’ may be difficult for him to clinch.
The former legislator, who had been accused of playing anti-party, our source said would decamp to SDP if the primary doesn’t favour.
“The truth, is he is not serious about the contest. He’s only playing what I would call spoiler game.
“You know his political journey so far. He’s neither here or there. He bought SDP form last month and will decamp to the party with his 10 followers after the PDP primary,” the source, who is from his local government said.”
IDOMA VOICE learnt that Senate aspirants are to pay N500,000 for expression of interest and N2.5 million for the nomination form.
