Indications have emerged on the real reason a coronavirus patient, Patrick (surname withheld) reportedly escaped from isolation centre in Ogun to Otukpo, Benue State.
IDOMA VOICE had reported that the patient, who hailed from Allan Ward in Akpa, was arrested on Sunday evening after he escaped from Isolation Centre to Benue.
He was arrested during a stop a d search by the COVID-19 taskforce team in Otukpo on Saturday evening.
Sources, however, told IDOMA VOICE that during interrogation, the young man hinged his reason for disappearing from the isolation centre on hunger and ill-treatment meted on them by the COVID-19 taskforce team in the state.
The patient, who has since been moved from Otukpo to Makurdi, claimed he preferred to die in his state, Benue than face the ill-treatment and hunger in Ogun.
He claimed since he was taken to the centre, they people hardly give them food or medication, a development he said triggered his decision to return to Benue.
