ExxonMobil contractor, Police officer found dead in Akwa Ibom Hotel

The Police Command in Akwa Ibom has confirmed the deaths of a former ExxonMobil contractor and a police officer at two hotels in Eket.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Timfon John, provided details in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday.

She reported that the contractor passed away on Sunday, while the police officer died on October 14.

John did not disclose the names of the victims at the time of the report.

According to her, “The former ExxonMobil staff died at the hotel in Eket after slipping and falling while exiting the bathroom, which resulted in him hitting his head on the tiles.”

She added that the necessary investigations have been conducted and the police have released the body to the family for burial.

John also added that the police officer, who had traveled from Lagos to Eket on official duty, died of heart failure.
