FA cup third round draw: Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool await opponents

The FA Cup third round draw is set to take place before Reading’s trip to Eastleigh as all 20 Premier League clubs find out who they will face in early January

The FA Cup third round draw will take place on Sunday as clubs from the Premier League and Championship prepare to enter the world’s oldest club competition. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal will all find out who they will face, while holders Manchester City are back in to defend their trophy.

Meanwhile, several teams from the lower echelons of English football will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds and getting a dream tie. National League South side Maidstone are the lowest-ranked team guaranteed to be in the third round after beating Barrow on Saturday, while seventh-tier Ramsgate travel to former winners Wimbledon on Monday looking to create their own piece of history.

Mirror Football will be covering the draw, which is set to take place around 12.55pm (UK time) before Reading’s trip to Eastleigh on Sunday.
