Face Nigerians at the ballot, stop making excuses – Atiku’s camp tells Tinubu
The camp of African Democratic Congress ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has challenged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to face Nigerians at the ballot box instead of hiding behind Ebola.
Atiku’s senior media aide, Phrank Shuaibu, made the call in a statement on Wednesday while reacting to the country’s political situation.
The camp said Nigerians were tired of the hardship in the country, adding that the only way to determine whether Tinubu still enjoyed the people’s support was for him to face them at the ballot box.
“Tinubu must face Nigerians at the ballot box, not hide behind Ebola,” the statement said.
It added that hiding behind Ebola or any other excuse would not shield the administration from the judgement of Nigerians experiencing economic hardship.
The camp further stated that democracy thrived when leaders submitted themselves to the will of the people through elections rather than making excuses.
As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had yet to react to the statement.
