IDOMA VOICE reports that Igbotimes.info, a news portal had in a report published on its platform August 15, 2022, alleged that renowned businessman and philanthropist, Arthur Eze has challenged activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju to a N100m bet.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Adeyanju had dared Labour Party’s supporters to place a $10,000 bet on Peter Obi over his 2023 presidential ambition.
The activist had said Obi will never win the 2023 election, adding that he will come a distant third behind Bola Tinubu of APC and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, IDOMA VOICE reports.
Already, Adeyanju had deposited $10,000 in the account of ace journalist, Dele Momodu and has displayed proof of payment.
The socio-political commentator said he has been waiting for a supporter from the camp of Obi to do same to prove him wrong.
Few days after throwing up the challenge, nobody from Peter Obi’s camp has been able to take up the challenge.
However, Biafra info reported that Arthur Eze (Ozoigbondu 1 and Arthur n’Ukpo) has accepted the challenge and has challenged Adeyanju to a N100m bet.
The report with the screaming headline: Breaking news: Billionaire “Arthur Eze” dare Adeyanju Deji, asked “Deji” to bet with 100M over Peter Obi winning.”
It also alleged, “It was gathered that “Eze” has already wired his 100m to The accurate person to hold the money, while Deji’s money is yet to be received.”
VERIFICATION
The source (Biafra Info) did not give details of where the money was paid to or where Athur Eze made the statement.
The story didn’t quote any source or statement directly from Athur Eze.
Similarly, checks on social media account with the name
Athur Eze – Eze N’Ukpo, did not carry such information.
CONCLUSION
Although the renowned businessman has not come out to accept or debunked the report, checks by IDOMA VOICE have shown that the report is FAKE.
