Nigerian comedians on the rise, Princewill and Smile, have taken to social media to express concern about their fellow comedian, Brain Wizzy, whose current whereabouts are unknown.
According to report, Princewill made an Instagram post on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, declaring Brain Wizzy as missing.
Smile also shared this message on his Instagram page.
Princewill revealed that he was with Brain Wizzy on Monday night in Akowonjo, Lagos, before Brain Wizzy left for another performance in Ogudu.
He stated, “Greetings, My People. I was with Brain Wizzy and others at Bhenjr Cfr’s Comedy Events in Akowonjo from approximately 5:30 pm to around 9 pm when he performed and stayed for a few minutes to enjoy the show. Later, he departed for another show in Ogudu, the FUNNYCASE OGUDU COMEDY NIGHT, around past 9 pm. Apparently, the last comedian who saw him was Coyman, who informed me that Brain Wizzy was waiting for a ride he had arranged for earlier in the morning.”
Princewill mentioned that he and others had contacted the police and provided information to aid in the search for Brain Wizzy.
“We have taken steps toward a solution by reaching out to the nearest police station, initiating a case file, sharing personal details as requested, and more, to facilitate a search, radio broadcast, and assistance from network providers. We believe that our social media sharing will contribute to the search campaign, and we remain hopeful that these efforts will assist us in #SaveBrainWizzy,” he added.
Brain Wizzy had posted a WhatsApp status update on Monday night, stating that he believed he had been kidnapped and requested that his phone be tracked.
“Is it a crime to dress well? Omo, it seems like I’ve been kidnapped. It would help if you guys tracked my phone before they take it away from me,” he wrote.
