The appointment of Fatai Osho as the fresh head coach for Akwa United FC has been announced.
Paul Bassey, the Chairman of Akwa United FC, made this announcement during a press conference held in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday.
Bassey highlighted that the contract would span one year, underscoring that Osho’s selection was based on his wealth of experience and a proven track record of accomplishments during his tenure with other clubs.
Describing the new coach as a seasoned professional with over 12 years of coaching background, Bassey expressed confidence in Osho’s ability to secure accolades for the team and bring pride to the state.
With a commitment from the state government, stakeholders, and the fans to support Osho’s coaching journey towards success, he urged the coach to lead the team to victories on the continental stage, as triumphs are the desire of the fans.
Introducing Osho, who has previously coached Remo Stars, Enyimba, and Rivers United, Bassey stated, “The coach we are introducing holds a remarkable coaching pedigree; his extensive coaching experience has the potential to elevate us to exceptional heights; he’s a coach who can guide us back to continental competitions, and we firmly believe that his presence here will yield laurels.”
In response, Osho expressed gratitude to the state government for the contract and assured his commitment to elevating Akwa United to greater achievements.
He emphasized that the team’s performance, in terms of successful match outcomes, is what would truly complement the magnificence of the stadium.
