Fatal collision on Lagos-Ibadan expressway claims two lives
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, has confirmed that two people lost their lives in a road accident on the Long Bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:38 a.m. on Monday and involved a Mazda bus with the registration number EDE217XB and a MAN diesel truck registered as AJL715XA.
FRSC spokesperson Florence Okpe reported that the accident involved three male adults, with one sustaining injuries. The injured individual was taken to Hopeland Hospital Warewa, while the bodies of the deceased were transported to the Real Divine Hospital morgue in Ibafo.
Okpe stated that the crash was caused by road obstruction and driver fatigue.
Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin extended his condolences to the victims’ families and urged motorists to stay alert and take regular breaks to prevent fatigue and accidents.
