FCT Minister bans use of City Gate Eid Praying Ground

FCT Minister, Mohammed Musa Bello has directed that the City Gate Eid Praying Ground should not be used for the Eid-El Fitr prayers due to concerns over the possible spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Minister who held a meeting with the Committee of Abuja Imams on Monday, acknowledged the rising cases of Covid-19 In some areas.

In a statement signed by Secretary of the Abuja Committee of Imams, Ishaq Zango, only Eid praying centers with large grounds should be used in the FCT and environs, with strict compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

The City Gate Eid Ground mostly used by very important personalities, VIPs in Abuja is where the President, Ambassadors and other high profile Nigerians observe their Eid prayers
