Honorable Justice Fatun Odohi Riman, who presided over cases at the Awka division of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, has passed away in a London hospital.
Justice Riman’s demise occurred in England during the early hours of October 28. The announcement of his passing was made by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Honorable Justice John Tsoho.
Following the news of Justice Riman’s death, proceedings at Federal High Courts nationwide came to a halt. A notice was issued to all Federal High Court judges on October 28, in which Justice Tsoho revealed that the late judge had been receiving medical treatment in England before his passing.
Details about the burial arrangements will be conveyed by Justice Riman’s family at a later time.
On Monday, judges in the Lagos division who had already commenced their sessions were abruptly asked to adjourn, in response to the news of Justice Riman’s passing. Subsequently, cases were rescheduled for later dates.
