The Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Chief George Alli today called on the management of the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo to consider the employment of Otukpo Local Government indigens as the University prepares to take off soon.
The Chairman made the call today when the Vice Chancellor paid him a courtesy call in his Akpegede residence.
Chief Alli who promised to assist the university in it quest to take off any moment from now said as the host community, it would be nice to have people from the local government in the employment of the new University.
The Chairman who said he was happy with the visit called on the University management not to hesitate in reaching out to him anytime his assistance is needed.
In his words, “your courtesy call on me is highly appreciated. You have not started fully but your impacts on the community of Otada is much. The economic impacts on the community is huge and fantastic”.
Earlier, te Vice Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Professor Innocent Ujah has commended the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Chief George Alli, for efficient service delivery.
He disclosed that he has been monitoring the chairman’s performance even when he was in Jos saying, “you have been doing well as a council chairman. I appreciate you”.
Ujah who took time to speak on the take off of the new university said awareness creation was one of the challenges confronting the varsity at the moment.
According to him, “there is lots to be done as to create awareness of the great school that is to begin any moment from now”.
Professor UJAH also paid a glowing tribute to the former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, on the creation of the University.
The courtesy call was equally graced by the Supervisory Councillor for Health in the local government Council.
