FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, OTUKPO BENUE STATE – NIGERIA INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR TEACHING AND NON TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointments into various teaching and non-

teaching positionsin the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Professor:

The candidatemust be a Professor with a minimum of twenty (20) publications; five (5) of which should be offshore

while (15) must be journal articles). The candidate must have supervised a minimum of one Ph.D. student or three

Masters students. The Departments of Anatomy and Physiology require a degree in Medicine and registration with

Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria which will be an added advantage.

Reader/Associate Professor:

The candidate must be a Reader with a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and its

equivalent in relevant field and evidence of outstanding and continuing achievement/teaching experience in a

University. Fifteen (15) publications in reputable international and national journals. Ability to supervise a minimum

of one Masters or Ph.D. student.

 

Senior Lecturer:

1) The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and

its equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized institution plus six (6) years post qualification

teaching and research experience. The candidate must also have a minimum of seven (7) publications in

reputable journals with evidence of continuous research and ability to supervise graduate students.

2) Senior Lecturer (as applicable to medical Doctors)

1. a) MBBS plus possession of the final or part II of the relevant fellowship certificate FNMC/FWACS/FWACP

and eight (8) reputable publications of national/international journal articles.

1. b) Ph.D. plus a registration with eight (8) reputable publications of national/international journal articles out

of which six (6) must be in print.

 

Lecturer I

1) The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree or Fellowship of National Postgraduate Medical College and its

equivalent in the relevant field from a recognized institution plus three (3) years post qualification teaching

and research experience. The candidate must also have a minimum of Four (4) publications in reputable

journals with evidence of continuous research and ability to supervise graduate students

2) Lecturer I (as applicable to medical Doctors)

MBBS plus possession of the final or part II of the relevant fellowship of the National P o s t g r a d u a t e

Medical College of Nigeria and its equivalent

 

Lecturer II

1. a) A Ph.D. from a recognized University or Master’s degree plus two (2) Journal publications and

evidence of Ph.D. registration, relevant professional registration is an added advantage.

1. b) M.B.B.S plus a minimum of three (3) years cognate teaching experience.

Assistant Lecturer:

nd A good second class honours degree (not less than 2 class Lower) plus a Master’s Degree.

Graduate Assistant:

A good honours Degree (First or Second class upper) from a recognized Institution and NYSC Certificate/Exception.

Candidate must possess a good HND/NISLT, Final diploma, B.Sc. in

relevant field. OR other recognized equivalent qualification, plus a

minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience with evidence of

practicing license from NISLT. OR

Other recognized equivalent professional qualification (NISLT). OR

HND plus MTEC/M.Sc. degree in the same discipline with a minimum of

three years post qualification experience.

 

4 Principal Technologist

Candidate must possess a good HND/Final Diploma/B.Sc. in relevant

Technology from a recognized Institution plus NYSC

discharge/exemptions, registered with NISLT/ IMLT or other relevant

professional bodies plus Minimum of 9 years relevant experience.

 

5 Assistant Chief

Technologist

HND/BSC in relevant discipline or recognized professional qualification

with 12 years relevant experience plus professional registration (NILST)

OR

A good HND/BSC with MTEC/M.Sc. in relevant discipline with 12 years

relevant experience plus professional registration (NILST).

 

6 Chief Technologist

HND/BSC in relevant discipline or recognized professional qualification

with 15 years relevant experience plus professional registration with

NILSTOR

A good MTEC/M.Sc. in same discipline plus 12 years relevant

experience and professional registration with NILST.

lower division plus NYSC Discharge certificate or evidence of
