A former National Association of Idoma Students, NAIS, President, Nasarawa State University chapter, Ben Ekwote, has rubbished the N1m donated by the lawmaker representing Ado, Okpokwu and Ogbadibo Federal Constituency, Francis Ottah Agbo, to the kick of academic activities of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
IDOMA VOICE recalls that Ottah made the donation after a meeting with the pioneer VC, Prof Innocent Ujah.

Reacting, however, the former NAIS leaders described his gesture as an eye service, saying it is a right step in a wrong direction
He voice his anger in an opinion below;
Yesterday, news broke out that the member representing Ado/OKpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Hon. Francis Ottah Agbo donated one million Naira to the management of the newly established Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo.
One wonders the end target he is trying to achieve with such “eye service” donation but in my humble view, it is a right step in a wrong direction.
A school established by the Federal Government, with several billions of naira already earmarked for its take off; a Federal Lawmaker is trying to catch public attention by donating one million Nairaas support fund. Support for what?
Has the Federal Government cried to him or the general public that they no longer have money to fund the unique and essential university they just established in otukpo? Or he is trying to show that he has money more than the FG.
If he wants to contribute to the educational improvement of Idoma land, he can as well start from Enone Federal Constituency that voted him to where he is today as charity is said to begin at home. Many less privilege people are in his constituency striving and scouting for resources to go to school. Many orphans in his constituency needs part of that one million Naira he donated to feed, pay school fee and survive. Why trying to play to the public gallery by throwing a drop of water into an ocean.
I don’t know who is advising our Honourable Member, I’m not the one who gave him the resources he is spending neither do I have the right to advise or question how he spend his money but for the fact that he is our representative in government, I will like to advise him that if his intention is to contribute to the educational improvement of Idoma Nation, he should start from Enone Federal Constituency that gave him the mandate and privilege to be where he is today.
Now that schools are resuming after the Covid-19 pandemic, less privilege student’s from his constituency will need support or assistance to return back to school. He can use that one million Naira to give #20,000 worth scholarship or educational support initiative to 50 indigent student’s in his Federal Constituency and that will speak volume of his love for educational development in Idoma land as his media tigers are trying to justify.
