A marketing employee of a bank in Lagos State, identified as Amarachi Ugochukwu, has tragically taken her own life.
According to reports, Amarachi was discovered dead inside the staff toilet of the bank located in the Ikorodu area of the state on Monday, January 8.
A police source, speaking to LIB, mentioned that concern arose among Amarachi’s colleagues when her phone continued to ring on her table without any response, prompting them to initiate a search for her.
Subsequently, her lifeless body was found in one of the staff toilets after the door was forcibly opened.
The bank manager, who reported the incident to the police, stated that alongside Amarachi’s lifeless body, a bottle of insecticide was discovered, indicating that she had consumed it in an attempt to end her life.
A suicide note expressing her despair about the difficulties in her life and the challenging economic situation was also found beside her.
Upon confirming her death, a doctor was summoned, and police detectives arrived at the scene. The corpse was then transported to Ikorodu General Hospital for an autopsy to be conducted on her remains.
