There is palpable fear and tension in Iree community of Boripe Local Government in the state of Osun with the discovery of the dead body of a 22-year old student of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, identified as Faderera.
According to sources who confirmed the incident, the deceased who is a 300 level student of Mathematics Education had visited her boyfriend, Malik living in an hostel along Koko campus of the institution in company of her friend, Kemisola Adewusi, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
It was gathered that Malik who was not known to be a student of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree bought cooked rice for his visitors on Tuesday morning before the incident happened.
Faderera the sources revealed had complained of stomach pain and fainted while eating the food while her friend, Kemisola who tried to pour water on her also slumped sustaining serious injury in the process.
According to Kemisola’s account, the duo hail from Ipetu-Ijesha in the state of Osun.
The SUG President of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Kehinde Raji said all evidences showed that the suspect, Malik who as at the time of filing in this report had fled is not a student of the institution.
He was said to have completed his National Diploma from the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke yet. However, his studentship was in doubt.
Raji stressed during a search, varying degrees of charms were found in Malik’s room.
The deceased’s corpse was taken for hospital treatment.
The suspect, Malik as at the time of filing in this report has since disappeared into the thin air, and nobody is yet to know his whereabouts.
Reports say Kemisola has been taken to the Police station in Iree while the remains of the deceased has been taken to the Lautech Teaching Hospital, Osogbo.
