Female tenant attacks landlord with pestle after being asked to pack out

A woman and her two children are in police custody after allegedly assaulting her landlord with a pestle in Umugbabe Ovoko, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Enugu State.

The incident came to light through a Facebook post by Enugu media personality, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, on January 31, 2025. According to Ugwuanyi, the woman attacked the young landlord, who is an orphan, after he requested that she vacate the property.

Ugwuanyi wrote, “His tenant hit him on the head with a pestle because he asked her to move out of the house. The woman and her two children are now at the Ibagwa police station.”

He also shared that the landlord, who had allowed the woman to stay with him due to being the only occupant in the large house, was left injured by the attack. Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the matter.
