Fenerbahce goalkeeper set for Man Utd move after undergoing medical
Fenerbahce’s goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir, has successfully undergone medical examinations in preparation for a potential transfer to Manchester United during this summer transfer window.
Despite securing the acquisition of Andre Onana from Inter in a substantial £47.2 million transaction, Manchester United is actively seeking to bolster their goalkeeping options with a reliable backup.
Erik ten Hag’s team had David de Gea depart Old Trafford on a free transfer earlier in the summer, leaving Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton as the current backup choices for Onana.
While Bayindir is widely anticipated to depart Fenerbahce in the upcoming months, with Crystal Palace being his most probable destination due to previous links, new developments have emerged. As reported by The Athletic, Manchester United has conducted a preliminary medical assessment on Bayindir in Greece, hinting at a potential €5 million deal.
Bayindir, who has earned five caps for Turkey’s national team, initially joined Fenerbahce in 2019 and has since made 145 appearances for the club.
