FIFA 2030 World Cup six countries to host tournament
The 2030 FIFA World Cup is set to be hosted across six countries spanning three continents. As revealed by Sky News, Europe’s Spain and Portugal, along with Morocco in North Africa, will be the primary co-hosts for this monumental event.
The FIFA Council, orchestrating a plan to amalgamate rival bids, has officially confirmed the Spain-Portugal-Morocco bid as the sole candidate for hosting the tournament. Additionally, three South American countries have been designated to host specific matches. Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina have secured hosting roles, with each country hosting an opening match, marking a significant milestone: 100 years since the inaugural World Cup held in Uruguay, where the hosts emerged victorious.
To commemorate this historic anniversary, the first match of the tournament will be held in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, where the inaugural World Cup finals took place 93 years ago. Subsequent matches will unfold in Argentina and Paraguay before the tournament’s epicentre moves to North Africa and Europe, promising an unforgettable football spectacle on a global scale.
